How Our Network Works
Start a project request
Two roles to keep clear
Effectsways Concrete handles the referral side of your request. An independent local provider discusses the proposed construction and offers its own terms. These are separate roles. When someone contacts you about your project, ask which business they represent and who would be responsible for the work. Keep that business name with any estimate you receive.
Make the first discussion useful
Describe what you want to build and how you expect to use it. A driveway for heavier vehicles raises different questions from a small seating patio. Share rough dimensions, current surface conditions, and equipment access limits. Point out nearby basement windows, downspouts, steps, or low spots. Photos may help explain the request, but ask what needs an on-site assessment before pricing is settled.
Ask how the plan protects your property
The provider should explain more than the finished appearance. Use questions that bring hidden parts of the job into view:
- How will you prepare and compact the base?
- Where will water flow after the surface is installed?
- What thickness and joint layout does the quote include?
- How will you protect doors, siding, and nearby surfaces?
- What curing and access instructions will you provide?
For stamped concrete patios, also ask how texture and sealer affect traction when wet. Discuss snow clearing and ongoing surface care before choosing a finish.
Compare the paperwork before the price
Check whether each estimate includes the same dimensions, demolition, hauling, reinforcement, finish, and cleanup. Ask who handles any required permits. Confirm the payment schedule and how changes get priced and approved. If one proposal leaves out a task, request clarification instead of assuming it is included. Ask the provider to put verbal explanations into the written scope so you can review them later.
Keep the decision in your hands
You can ask more questions, request clearer terms, or decline a proposal. A referral does not commit you to hiring. Before signing, confirm who your project contact will be and how to raise concerns during construction. The provider handles its scheduling, work, and follow-up obligations. For an existing job, direct service questions to that provider rather than submitting a new project request.
